This notice explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. UK GDPR requires us to provide this information when we collect personal data from you.

Please review our Recruitment Privacy Policy for details of how your data will be used within our recruitment processes.

Cookies and similar technologies (PECR)

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

– make the website work and keep it secure; and

– if you choose, understand performance and measure advertising.

Under UK PECR, we must provide clear information about cookies and obtain consent for non-essential cookies. Consent must be actively and clearly given. Some cookies are exempt where they are strictly necessary to provide a service you request (for example, security or saving your cookie choices).  Where we rely on your consent (for example for analytics or advertising cookies), we will ask you for it separately via our cookie banner. You can withdraw or amend your consent at any time in Cookie Settings.

You can read full details in our Cookie Policy

What personal data we collect

A) Data you provide to us

– Contact details (for example name, email address, telephone number, address)

– Information you submit in forms, enquiries, emails or other communications

B) Data collected automatically (depending on your cookie choices)

– Device and technical data (for example IP address, browser type, operating system)

– Usage data (for example pages viewed, clicks, scrolls, time on page, referring page)

– Advertising measurement data (for example whether you arrived via an advert and how you use the site)

Please do not include sensitive information (for example health details) in website free-text fields. Where forms exist, we take steps to limit or mask Microsoft Clarity session recording inputs where possible.  Please see information below about Microsoft Clarity.

Why we use your data (purposes)

We use personal data to:

– respond to enquiries and provide customer support

– provide information, products and services you request

– operate, maintain and secure the website

– improve website performance and user experience (analytics, where you consent)

– measure advertising and marketing effectiveness (where you consent)

UK GDPR requires us to be clear about each purpose for processing personal data.

Our lawful basis (UK GDPR)

We rely on different lawful basis depending on the task:

– Legitimate interests: to respond to enquiries, manage our relationship with you, run and secure the website, and improve our services (balanced against your rights).

– Contract (or steps before entering a contract): where processing is needed to provide products/services you request.

– Consent: for non-essential cookies (including analytics and advertising cookies) and for marketing where consent is required.

For non-essential cookies (including analytics and advertising cookies), UK PECR requires your consent.

Analytics, advertising and session replay tools

If you consent to analytics/advertising cookies, we may use:

– Google Analytics (website analytics)

– Google Ads (advertising measurement and remarketing)

– Microsoft Clarity (session replay, heatmaps and behavioural analytics)

– Microsoft Advertising (advertising measurement)

– HubSpot (forms, CRM tracking, and website analytics functions)

– Meta (Facebook) tools (such as the Meta Pixel) for advertising measurement/remarketing

– LinkedIn tools (such as the LinkedIn Insight Tag) for advertising measurement/remarketing

– Embedded media providers such as YouTube and Vimeo (for video playback and performance)

Some partners may use non-personal data for product improvement and research (including use of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning), as set out in their own privacy notices.

We do not use session replay tools to create profiles about you as an individual. We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Some advertising partners may use cookies to personalise ads, as described in their privacy notices.

Google (Google Analytics / Google Ads)

When websites use Google services (such as Google Analytics or Google advertising services), browsers may send information to Google, including the URL of the page visited, IP address, device information and information about interactions with the website. Google may also set or read cookies and similar technologies on your device.

Google explains that it uses information from websites and apps that use its services to deliver, maintain and improve its services, measure website and advertising effectiveness, attribute conversions, protect against fraud and abuse and, where appropriate permissions have been provided, personalise content and advertising. Google may also use information such as IP addresses and device information for measurement and personalisation purposes in accordance with its policies.

Where consent is required for analytics, advertising or personalisation activities, we will seek your consent through our cookie consent mechanism before those technologies are activated. Google explains that where a website requests consent, it will respect the purposes described in the consent choices provided by the user.

For Google Analytics and Google Ads, Closomat and Google each act as separate controllers of the personal data they receive and process for their respective purposes.

Further information about how Google processes personal data can be found at:

Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity / Microsoft Advertising)

If you consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our site (for example heatmaps and session replay) and to help measure and improve website experience and marketing. Microsoft provides Terms of Use for Clarity and a Privacy Statement describing how it processes personal data.

For Microsoft Clarity, Closomat and Microsoft each act as separate controllers of the data we receive.  Microsoft’s use of data is explained in the Privacy Statement: https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement.
