Closomat rounds off it’s 2023/24 academic year clinical webinar series with a CPD accredited event on ‘Parkinson’s disease and housing design’.

This one-hour session, hosted by Closomat, will be delivered by senior Occupational Therapist and Director at the OT Service, Adam Ferry.

Adam, who has been a practising OT for over 20 years in both local authority and private practice, is an expert in the delivery of clinical specifications and adaptations for people with neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s.

Robin Tuffley, Marketing Manager at Closomat said:

Signups for this specific event have been beyond our expectations and demonstrates the continuing appetite for our clinical CPD webinars. We will be closing out the academic year strongly with this event, with expected attendance to be close to that of similar events held at the height of the covid lockdown, which puts into context the interest there is in this webinar.

‘Parkinson’s disease and housing design’, raises key points in the current psyche of the healthcare marketplace and will take into account symptoms of Parkinson’s disease such as tremor, balance and co-ordination problems.

This informative webinar will take place on Tuesday 11th June 4pm, Thursday 13th June 11am, and Monday 24th June at 2pm.

The webinar will cover:

  • Explore activity analysis and the impact on occupation
  • Reflect on using adaptations and design to enable occupational engagement
  • Consider activity analysis and toileting for someone with Parkinson’s, providing specific insights into potential design

Our new model of pre-promoting our webinars at the previous event, has been very successful, with people signing up literally months in advance. This clearly indicates that people like what we are delivering them, which is great! – continues Robin.
