UK Wash and Dry Toilet Manufacturer, Closomat, continues to strengthen its educational offering for Occupational Therapists

Closomat, the UKs only specialist manufacturer of Wash and Dry Toilets, developed an on-line learning series for Occupational Therapists (OTs) back in April and it has been growing in popularity ever since.

Titled “Learn at Lunch” these informative 30 minute sessions will enable OTs to enhance their practise and support their professional development, by focussing on a range of “hot topics” in the area of assisted toileting.

The last session of 2022, on Wednesday 19th October at Noon, is ‘Plus-size clients and wash and dry toilets’. The webinar will cover:

  • What is obesity and why is it important to take a ‘person first’ approach to language?
  • How can being plus-sized affect occupational performance?
  • What is anthropometrics and why is it important?
  • Considerations as to what equipment can be used to help facilitate toileting.

We’ve been running our very successful webinar programme since the very first Covid lockdown, and the huge thirst for knowledge amongst OTs, particularly in the area of toileting, is still there.

After consulting with OTs, we recognised that there was a role for punchier sessions, to complement the more in-depth webinars, which could be attended during a lunch hour, for example.

The sessions, run in conjunction with The OT Service, will address what is being talked about by OTs right now to ensure they are of relevance. They will comprise of an initial pre-recorded presentation followed by a live “Q and A” between senior OTs from the OT Service. Sessions will also feature product demonstrations, where applicable.
