In this webinar we explore how the design principles impact on ‘ageing well’, by reducing risk and maximising independence. The bathroom often constitutes one of the most high risk environments, however, with application of some basic design principles these risks can be significantly reduced proactively rather than reactively.

The webinar will draw on evidence based practice and legislation to formulate robust and defensible clinical reasoning principles which can be applied to ensure a person’s immediate and long-term needs are met.

Learning outcomes:

  • Develop awareness of bathroom design principles for the client group
  • Consider the impact of proactive housing interventions
  • Reflect on how we apply legislation and guidance to formulate clinically reasoned recommendations
