People visiting London can enjoy the best hotel facilities, regardless of their ability, as a result of attention to detail at one of London's four-star locations.
he Copthorne Tara in the heart of Kensington, has taken the Government's Disability Discrimination Act beyond basic compliance. In addition to providing unisex disabled toilets in the communal areas of the hotel, it was the first hotel in London to provide specially equipped 10 rooms for the disabled. These rooms offer flexibility to accommodate more personal ability requirements, including the installion of Closomat automatic shower toilets in two of the rooms.
Andy Byles of Copthorne Tara explains, "Copthorne Hotels aims to ensure everyone who uses or assists in the provision of our services are treated equally and according to their needs, whether they have a mobility difficulty, speech impairment or difficulty, learning or mental health disability, or use a wheelchair, cane, walking frame or crutches.
Within the ground floor area we have avoided the inclusion of steps, and have installed ramps where necessary. We have chosen floor coverings that do not hamper wheelchair manoeuvrability, and we have tailored our adapted bedrooms to specific issues such as hearing or mobility.
"We worked closely with Holiday Care to select the most appropriate equipment. The Closomat toilets are a logical choice: with their integral washing and drying functions they ensure our guests can use these facilities with dignity and hygiene, and can be used by anyone, regardless of limitation."
Looking like, and no bigger than, a conventional WC, the Closomat douches and dries the user at the push of the lever (either by hand or body pressure). It eliminates the need for toilet paper yet provides enhanced cleanliness and hygiene.
Closomat is the first choice for disabled people and their carers, to deliver quality, easy to use toileting solutions that bring greater independence, dignity and hygiene.Mark Sadler Sales Director
